Delicate hues of green and brown decorate this photograph of the North Atlantic Fishing Company along Gloucester Harbor. Its two-storied factory buildings with gabled roofs sit along the edge of the harbor, in which a variety of boats are moored against the docks. Clouds completely cover the sky above, accenting the rustic charm of the harbor and creating a peaceful atmosphere

The North Atlantic Fishing Company was established in 1936 in the city of Gloucester, Massachusetts. They currently produce a wide variety of frozen seafood, such as frozen tilapia and popcorn shrimp, and market their products to a wide variety of institutional and healthcare facilities. The company is able to flourish due to the strategic location of Gloucester along the Atlantic coast and the plentiful variety of seafood in its waters.

From the collection of Fred Bodin of Gloucester, MA. Fred was a long time resident and well-known photographer of Gloucester and had one of the best private collections of New England nautical photographs in private hands. Fred was a photojournalist having graduated with this degree from Syracuse University and worked for Yankee Magazine. Fred passed away in 2016 and HIP purchased his collection from his estate.
