A middle-aged gentleman wearing a three-piece suit with a striped tie calmly sits in front of an ivy-lined house. He is also wearing round glasses and a cap, and his overcoat is folded over his left hand. The house that he poses in front of has paneled windows that look into its basement, as well as a wooden staircase that leads up to the front entrance. Large bushels of ivy are growing around the front of the house and drape over the railings of the staircase, adding a charming detail to its exterior. Judging by the way that the sunlight strikes the man's face, the photograph appears to have been taken during the morning.
From the collection of Fred Bodin of Gloucester MA. Fred was a long time resident and well-known photographer of Gloucester and had one of the best private collections of New England nautical photographs in private hands. Fred was a photojournalist having graduated with this degree from Syracuse University and worked for Yankee Magazine. Fred passed away in 2016 and HIP purchased his collection from his estate.
