Whoever took this photograph knew something about utilizing their depth of field. I love that, at first glance, this snapshot seems to be a family of four. Only after a few moments do I notice the woman in the midground, who appears to be standing on a small makeshift porch as she does her laundry. I also like the fact that each person in this shot has a very distinct body language, from the little girl anxiously hugging the baby, to the demure woman on the porch, to the little boy standing proudly in the wheelbarrow. This photograh comes to us from the collection of Fred Bodin, who was an avid collector and photographer until his death in 2016. We're grateful to him for passing this gem along to us.
