Another fashion gem from the Bodin collection. Let's start with those shoes, which are quintessential Victorian style. Slight heels, pointed toes, and a narrow boot are recognizable trends of the Victorian era. Her dress, on the other hand, is a little less obvious. Judging by the star pattern and the skirt's length, this dress appears to actually be a swimsuit. This swimsuit style dates back to the late Victorian/early Edwardian era. This image comes to us from the Fred Bodin collection. Fred was an avid collector and a professional photographer himself. He worked for "Yankee Magazine," a prominent New England publication. Over the course of his life, Fred collected photographic prints and negatives from various photographers around New England, and after his death in 2016, HIP purchased the bulk of Mr. Bodin's collection. We're excited to share the best of it with you.
