Two bakers pause their work. The work table is clean and their wooden trough is full of fresh loaves, which suggests that this might be the very end of their workday. Since we have a handful of photographs from the Farragut House Hotel in Rye, New Hampshire, it's possible that these two were employees of the hotel and that this photo was taken in the hotel's kitchen. This behind-the-scenes look is brought to us by Clarence Trefry, who was active in the Rye area for decades starting in the late 19th century.
