Sunny Picnic

Fred Bodin

$24.99

A trio of travelers break for a meal beneath a tree. The background is bright and overexposed, so much so that we can almost feel the hot sun as it bakes the dirt. Although the subjects in this shot are quite blurry, I still feel captivated by this snapshot. They seem to be a subdued bunch, perhaps tired after their hike or drive. Their response to the camera is modest, as if they are already familiar with its presence and power. This image comes to us from the Fred Bodin collection. Fred was an avid collector and a professional photographer himself. He worked for "Yankee Magazine," a prominent New England publication. Over the course of his life, Fred collected photographic prints and negatives from various photographers around New England, and after his death in 2016, HIP purchased the bulk of Mr. Bodin's collection. We're excited to share the best of it with you.
