Where Saguaros Grow

Fred Bodin

$24.99

Ah, the majestic saguaro. Not only is it beautiful, but it's also a helpful hint for figuring out where this photograph was taken. The saguaro cactus grows only in a specific section the Sonoran Desert. This area spans across Northern Mexico and Southern Arizona. Saguaros typically grow at elevations ranging from sea level to 4,000 feet, and those that make it above the 4,000-ft line are usually found on southern slopes, where freezing temperatures are shortlived and infrequent. This adventure to the southwest comes from the collection of Fred Bodin, a photographer and collector from the New England area. Whether this photograph was snapped on one of his expeditions or by a different photographer, we can't know for sure. Either way, we're thankful for the excellent view. Shine on, saguaros!
