As a kid growing up in the 1990s, my winter attire consisted of faded, puffy snowpants and mismatched wool mittens. Was it effective for the frigid Midwestern climate? You betcha. Was it anywhere near as stylish as this young child's outdoor apparel? No way. Look at that bonnet! I swear it's larger than this child's actual head. And no one trusted me with a purse when I was that young (and for good reason -- I was too busy playing in the dirt beneath the deck in our backyard. I suppose little girls of the Edwardian era had to behave themselves a bit better than that). What else can I say? This young model may not have been as toasty warm as I was, but she looks incredibly cool. This moment of style most likely brought to you by Gloucester's very own, Alice Curtis. We're grateful for her decision to document children's outerwear, even if it puts my own childhood photos to shame.
