A thick blanket of snow covers the ground leading to a dense forest of pines in Cape Porpoise, Maine. Leading towards the woodland are several trails of footprints, left by others who were intent on exploring the winter wonderland. While the snow appears to be relatively fresh, several rocks outside the forest are left uncovered by the snow, and hardly any remains on the branches of the trees. The dark, rich color of the pine needles contrast against the immaculate white color of the snow and clouded sky, adding an aura of mystery to the beautiful, enchanting forest. Even by looking at the photograph, you can almost smell the strong, comforting scent of the pine trees and are enveloped by crisp winter air. Just grab yourself a soothing cup of hot chocolate and wrap yourself in a warm blanket in front of a fire, and it will feel as if you're in a cozy winter cabin in New England.
The quiet, coastal village of Cape Porpoise is a favorite destination among tourists. It is located just outside Kennebunkport and provides many outdoor activities and a lovely view of the sea- not to mention plenty of seafood. During the winter, the Kennebunk area is positively breathtaking as it glistens in diamond-like snow and allows visitors to partake in plenty of wintertime activities such as skiing, snowshoeing, or keeping warm indoors while relaxing at a local spa.
