Three women, limbs intertwined, lean into one another, their postures intimate and unapologetic as they stare into the camera. A man crouches behind them, excluded of their shared embrace. The women gaze forward, focusing on the camera and each other, as if thoroughly unaware of the fourth member of their party. They seem to be primary subjects of the shot while the man's presence feels like an afterthought. Perhaps his presence in the frame is an obligatory (but fruitless) effort to moderate the queer, erotic energy between the women. No matter the photographer's motivations, these women clearly own this photograph (and if you can't tell already, I'm thoroughly in love with this photograph).
