A small arrangement of cottages is surrounded by a thick field of lush grasses and trees in a rural region of Cape Porpoise, Maine. A single-story cottage with a hipped roof and two narrow, rectangular windows on the front entrance lies in the center of the thicket. The home also appears to be under construction, as the rightmost corner of the building is completely lacking any paneling. Behind the cottage to the left is a small wooden shed, as well as another charming cottage, which looks to be two stories, with a hipped roof and is concealed by the thin, leafy branches of several trees. Two more quaint-looking houses lie towards the right of the centermost cottage, both of which contain columned front porches and gabled roofs. A dense forest of trees surrounds the cluster of houses, and the front of the field is curtained by an assortment of bushes and weeds- as if they are providing the viewer with a glimpse into a mysterious, undiscovered hideaway.

From the collection of Fred Bodin of Gloucester MA. Fred was a long time resident and well-known photographer of Gloucester and had one of the best private collections of New England nautical photographs in private hands. Fred was a photojournalist having graduated with this degree from Syracuse University and worked for Yankee Magazine. Fred passed away in 2016 and HIP purchased his collection from his estate.
